THE POWER OF OUR PAST: FUELING THE FUTURE

The American Furniture Hall of Fame Foundation, Inc. (AFHF), is an international, industry-wide effort organized to research, collect and preserve its cultural, economic and artistic history, as well as to honor those individuals whose outstanding achievements have contributed to the continued growth and development of the U.S. furniture industry.

The American Furniture Hall of Fame Foundation, Inc. was founded on George Washington’s birthday, February 22, 1988, by a group of nine concerned executives who identified the need to preserve the rich heritage of the furniture history.

In order to be eligible for AFHF membership, candidates must meet the following criteria: be incorporated or qualified to do business in any of the fifty states or the District of Columbia as an individual, corporation, partnership or other business entity, and have been engaged directly as a retailer, supplier, manufacturer, importer of home furnishings products for wholesale or retail distribution, association, designer, sales representative, and other home furnishings related entities in the United States; have agreed to support and promote the affairs and activities of the AFHF; and is not affiliated with or part of any city, county, state or federal governmental agency including any foreign governmental body. Members can nominate individuals who have made significant contributions to the U.S. home furnishings industry for induction to the AFHF.
