Gala Banquet:

Each October, AFHF hosts a gala banquet to honor the individuals who will enter the Hall of Fame. The "Affie" is presented to each winner who then becomes a permanent member.

Affie Award:

The "Affie" is the industry icon that is presented to each new permanent member of the Hall of Fame. Designed by George Kozinski, the flame finial design made of solid American walnut and ash.

A new design for the Affie Award will be commissioned in 2009. Click Here to download a pdf file of Award Competition Guidelines and an Entry Form.

Wall Of Fame

Walk Of Fame

On April 25, 2006 a ribbon cutting ceremony was held in the Plaza Building of Merchandise Mart Properties, Inc., High Point, NC, where the first exhibit of AFHF members and archives was unveiled.

The exhibit is 50 feet wide and 10 feet high. It is divided into three sections - "Honoring Our Heroes", "Members", and "Preserving Our History".

This is the first exhibit to show our archival materials and the progression of the furniture industry. The first furniture factory and the first phase of IHFC building, early transportation, manufacturing, and collection of books - some written by our Members and Sponsors and others from our library.

The Wall of Fame exhibit is open during the Spring and Fall High Point, NC furniture markets and can be opened for special viewing at other times by reservation.

Additional photos of exhibits housed on the main floor of the Plaza building can be seen at the bottom of this page.

The Walk Of Fame is located at the entrance to the Plaza Building, Merchandise Mart Properties, South Main Street, High Point, NC. Engraved bronze plaques with the names of honored Furniture Hall Of Fame Members are inlaid permanently in the sidewalk entrance. These welcome visitors to each furniture show in High Point.
